Why I chose to enlist into the Marine Corps: I chose to enlist in the Marine Corps, because of what it has to offer. The Brotherhood, the new environment, and learning experience is something I wanted to take part in. I’ve decided to not take the traditional path of going straight to college right after high school, and try something new altogether. Furthermore, I wanted to carry the legacy and do something i would be proud of and my children as well.
My plans for my enlistment/future: My plans are to serve at least one or two enlistment, and go pursue a college where I hopefully will be able to do NROTC, and become an officer. If not I am planning on continuing my career in Engineering field where I aspire to become a Mechanical Engineer. If not I will work in the Criminal Justice field and work as a Police Officer/(SWAT), FBI, or CIA.
My words to other future Jarheads: Always remember this, you decided to join one of the most ELITE FORCES in the world, earn the title. Always remember the Oath you took. Once you graduate, wear that uniform proud, represent your brothers and sister. NO ONE, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE can take that away from you ! Never give up on your dreams. Not everyone can become a Marine, and not everyone has the guts to even enlist in the Military, so always be proud of yourself no matter what.
My favorite quote: Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” – Steve Jobs
“If you love what you do, then it is no longer work. The money you earn is secondary when you love your work.”Catherine Pulsifer
