Why I joined the Marine Corps: I chose to enlist in the United States Marine Corps because I have family who is also  in the Marine Corps. I have been told my whole life that if I were to join any  branch of the military, I was to join the Army or National Guard because I am a female and it would  be easier. I didn’t want easy. I wanted something that would make me work.  And that is why I joined the Marine Corps

My plan for my future/enlistment: My MOS is food service. I chose this because I love to cook. I only plan on being a chef for the first 4 years of my contract and for the second 4 years I want to switch it to MP. I plan on becoming a DI and I want to join the FMET (Female Marine Engagement Team) and I am going to be a career Marine

What I have to say to  the future “Jarheads” “Leathernecks” “Ooh-Rahs”: I cant force you to join the Marine Corps. But I can tell you that it was the best decision of my life. I feel honored to wear the enlistment shirts while at PT. When your jogging down the side of the street and someone honks at you and yells “Thanks for your service” or “Thank you for keeping me and my family safe” the feeling it gives you is indescribable. All I can say is, this truly was a decision that I will never regret
